Ο Tom Waits Στα Του Σαββατόβραδου: San Diego Serenade

Ο Tom Waits ζωντανά στα 1976. Το τραγούδι είναι το San Diego Serenade και είναι απο τον δεύτερο δίσκο του ''The heart of Saturday Night'' που κυκλοφόρησε το 1974 απο την Asylum Records. Το 2003, το περιοδικό Rolling Stone, σε μια λίστα που εξέδωσε με τους καλύτερους 500 δίσκους όλων των εποχών, τον κατέταξε στην θέση 339. Δεν ξέρω απο λίστες, ποιός τις βγάζει, καθε πότε και με τι κριτήρια, αλλά στα δικά μου αυτιά, ο δίσκος είναι εκπληκτικός, απο την αρχή μέχρι το τέλος. Ο ίδιος ο Tom Waits περιγράφει το συγκεκριμένο album ως εξής:

''a comprehensive study of a number of aspects of this search for the center of Saturday night, which Jack Kerouac relentlessly chased from one end of this country to the other, and I've attempted to scoop up a few diamonds of this magic that I see.''
